John Conteh was one of Britain's finest post-war boxers, a supremely athletic and technically gifted light heavyweight who won the WBC world title in 1974 by defeating Jorge Ahumada on points at Wembley Arena, becoming only the second British fighter to win the WBC version of the title. A charismatic and good-looking fighter who became a celebrity as well as a champion, Conteh made three successful defences of the title before his career was complicated by a dispute with the WBC and subsequent personal struggles. His combination of footwork, punch variety, and natural ability made him one of the most complete British fighters of the 1970s. Our collection includes signed photos and more.
